HOW TO UNDERSTAND THE BAPTISM
OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

By Dr. J. A McBean.Th., MCC
D o not be fooled by Satan, what you saw happening in some church as spirit baptism is nothing more than Satan mimicking the Holy Spirit, and are taking possession of people. When the people are baptize in the Holy Spirit, love spring out of them like rivers. You will need to ask for our page that deal with evidence of a Holy Spirit filled life.
atthew 3:11 (KJV) I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
Jeremiah 9:23-24 (KJV) Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: [24] But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE BAPTIZE IN THE SPIRIT?
Baptize mean to immerse, or dip into. To be baptize with the Holy Spirit, mean that the Holy Spirit came upon you, over shadow you, fall upon you.
During the time of the Roman Gladiators. Before the fight the master of the gladiator would oiled the warrior. The oil would cause the punches to go off course. It would protect the warrior. By make grabbing him difficult, it would make him slippery like an eel. The baptism in the Holy Spirit prevents the saints from observing a direct hit from one of Satan’s fiery darts. The Holy Spirit already baptized the believers into the body of Christ, the church. But sooner or later that new Christians are going to came under fire.
Therefore, Jesus has to baptize that new saints in the Holy Ghost and with fire. After the oil bath the gladiators was sent to the hot house, to get the stuff imbedded into the skin. After Christ baptism in the Holy Ghost he was driven into the wilderness.
Matthew 3:16-4:1 (KJV) And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: [17] And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. [4:1] Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
PERSECUTIONS IS THAT FIRE, IT HARDENS US AS SOLDER.
Ephes. 6:16 (KJV) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Some young people turn up from a certain boy’s home to inquire of me if I saw one of the boys from their group. I ask what happen to him? They reply” He got filled with the holy ghost last night and jump through the church windows, ran away and was not seen since”
Days later while I was driving through Kingston Jamaica I saw the same boy they been looking for, he was dirty and ragged. He was not in his right mind and I am not sure he knows me, even though he previously did.
He received a spirit baptism but not the Holy Spirit; he has received a Satanic, demonic spirit baptism. Satan and his demons are having a holiday in these evangelical churches. Every thing that speaks in tongues, many of these people pass off to be the holy spirit. If a believer cannot distinguish between a Satanic Baptism and the Holy Spirit baptism, he she is in danger of getting their life messed up.
WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?
The first time we read about the Holy Spirit is in Gen chap one. The Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit is the same person.
WHERE THE TRINITY MANIFESTED TOGETHER IN SCRIPTURES
Jesus in the water being baptize, the holy spirit came upon him, and a voice spake from heaven saying” This is my beloved son”
Matthew 3:13-4:1 (KJV) Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. [14] But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? [15] And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. [16] And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: [17] And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. [4:1] Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
Three Baptisms for Believers:
2. Water baptism after one is saved (pt. 5, above and note, §Matthew 3:11).
3. Spirit baptism, the endowment of power for service. It can take place before water baptism (Acts 10:44-48) or after it (Acts 1:4-8; Acts 2:1-11; Acts 8:12-21; Acts 19:1-7).
The Holy Spirit is the agent to baptize into Christ and into His body (1 Cor. 12:13); Christ is the agent to baptize in the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:11; John 1:31-33); and the minister is the agent to baptize into water (Matthew 28:19).
LOOK AT THE PEOPLE WHOM THE SPIRIT CAME UPON.
1 Samuel 10:10 (KJV) And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.
1 Samuel 11:6 (KJV) And the Spirit of God came upon Saul when he heard those tidings, and his anger was kindled greatly.
1 Samuel 19:23 (KJV) And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.
2 Chron. 15:1 (KJV) And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded:
2 Chron. 24:20 (KJV) And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the Lord, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken the Lord, he hath also forsaken you.
Job 27:3 (KJV) All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;
John 7:37-39 (KJV) In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. [38] He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. [39] (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
THE REASON FOR THE BAPTISM IN THE SPIRIT.
Spiritual gifts and power for service. Ennoblement and endowment with power for service.
1 Cor. 2:12 (KJV) Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
To rooted and grounded us in God so the fruit of the spirit can be visible in our life.
1 Peter 5:10 (KJV) But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
1 Peter 1:8 (KJV) Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
To gave us joy unspeakable and full of glory.
Philip. 4:7 (KJV) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
He came to give us peace beyond comprehension.
IT IS US THAT GO INTO HIM AND NOT NECESSARILY HIM INTO US.
No other spirit must literally live in your body but the spirit that you were born with, your human spirit.
One cannot understand what it mean to be filled with the Holy Spirit if he she do not understand the terminology that use in the Bible. The bible uses many idioms and terminology. The terminologies are Eastern
Terminology
“Filled with the spirit” “ Spirit Be in you” Spirit be upon you”” Walk in the spirit” “Live in the spirit”” The Spirit fall upon them” “You are the temple of the Spirit” “You are the body of Christ”” Baptize in the spirit” All these are terminologies and does not mean literally what it says. For example,
“ The man jump ship” This does not mean that the person jump off a ship. It mean that the person change his or her route of action quickly. “I hear it right from the horse mouth” This does not mean that a horse has spoken but it mean that the person hear it from a very good source. “He went over board” This does not mean that the person fall off a ship. It mean the person said is do too much. “He made her crawl up the wall” “He went through the roof” The horse already gone through the gate” You will not understand what it means to be filled with the spirit if you do not understand the terminology and idioms use in the bible.
Matthew 5:39 (KJV) But I say unto you, that ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
“Turn the other cheek is an Eastern Idioms. It mean to do every thing in your power to avoid hostilities between you and your neighbors even to the point of taking the wrong if that will bring about the peace. And does not literally mean that if somebody is raping your wife you must stand there looking and do nothing about it. Some bullies beating you up on the street you must bend over, this is not what it is talking about.
Ten Proofs Spirit Baptism Is for All:
5. Jesus promised His power and anointing to every believer (Acts 1:4-8; John 14:12; Mark 16:17-18). 6. Peter promised it to all men (Acts 2:38-39; Acts 5:32). 7. Peter predicted that it would be given to all men in the last days (Acts 2:16-21). 8. Jesus died that all men might have it (Galatians 3:13-14). The promised Spirit in Galatians 3:14 is the same as in John 7:37-39; John 14:16-17,26; John 15:26; John 16:13-15; Acts 1:4-8; Acts 2:38-39). 9. The early church expected all believers to receive it and saw to it that they did get it (Acts 8:14-18; Acts 9:17; Acts 19:1-6). 10.That all the above applies to Gentiles as well as to Jews is clear in Matthew 3:11; John 7:37-39; Acts 2:16-21,38-39; Acts 5:32; Acts 10:44-48; Acts 11:14-18; Acts 15:7-11; Galatians 3:13-14; Romans 10:12.
Acts 1:4-8 (KJV) And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. [5] For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. [6] When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? [7] And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. [8] But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

THE PERSON MUST FIRST GET SALVATION, BEFORE HE/SHE CAN BE FILL WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Begin, continue, and end every work, purpose, and plan with God. Self-sufficiency and self-confidence have been the ruin of mankind ever since the fall. Man's sin has been to live independently of God. True religion consists of full acknowledgement of God in all human affairs (Proverbs 3:5).
SOMETIME ONLY JESUS CAN HELP US
Isaiah 55:6-AV Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Isaiah 55:7-AV Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
