"T ext. Malachi 3:14-18
Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the Lord of hosts? [15] And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered. [16] Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name. [17] And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. [18] Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.
Background:
The author of this book is Malachi. The date of writing is the 5th Centaury B.C. His name mean” My messenger” The Theme of the book is” Formalism Rebuke”
Introduction:
Israel Complain that to serve God was vain, and it was a burden. Malachi begin his book with the phrase” The burden of the word of the lord” Malachi came on the seen at a time of great confusion, corruption was like mountain high, truly the task for Malachi was not too sweet, because he ended is book with a curse.
BODY:
The benefits of serving God. Many people quit their jobs only because they did not know of the benefits that, that job offers. They never spent the time to read the employee handbook of the company, so all the things that were to their benefits they never know about it. Some company offers, down payment assistant for those who want to own a home. Pto, or paid time off. I keep seeing this thing on my check each month and never ask what it was; I quit one job and never uses the PTO because I never know what that was.
Many Christians cast off their faith due to the fact that they are not aware of all the benefits we have in God our savior.
Job 35:10-11 (KJV) But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night; [11] Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?
What are the benefits?
(1) Peace, joy and forgiveness of sins.
Philip. 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Acts 26:18 (KJV) To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
Ephes. 1:7 (KJV) In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
(2) PROTECTIONM FROM WITCHCRAFT AND DEMONS POSESSION.
Many nurses became demons possessed as they touches the body of demons possess patients daily, and not knowing it. When you accept Jesus as your savior and lord he cover you with his blood, and Satan powers cannot touch you. Voodoo has no power over genuine Christians.

Numbers 23:23 (KJV) Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!

(3) God turned your enemies doings toward you into a blessing.
Romans 8:28 (KJV) And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Psalm 37:14-15 (KJV) The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation. [15] Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
(4) DELIVERANCE FROM EVIL.
1 Chron. 4:9-10 (KJV) And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. [10] And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
(5) PROVISIONS.
Psalm 37:25 (KJV) I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
Isaiah 33:16 (KJV) He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.
Philip. 4:19 (KJV) But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
(6) GOD GAVE HIS PEOPLE A SOUND MIND.
2 Tim. 1:7 (KJV) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Luke 8:35 (KJV) Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
(7) OPEN OUR EYES TO THE DEVIOUS NATURE OF PEOPLE.
Daniel 2:47 (KJV) The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldst reveal this secret.

I told one person what they have done to me, the person asked me how long since I know? When I told the person. The person reply” And you been feeding me, you could have poison me” Reach out take Jesus and made yourself available to all these benefits.
(8) GOD BLESSED US WITH ALL SPIRITUAL BLESSING IN CHRIST JESUS.
Ephes. 1:3 (KJV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

He has abounded toward us (Ephes. 1:8). 7. He has made known unto us (Ephes. 1:9). 8. He has given us an inheritance (Ephes. 1:11,14). 9. He has sealed us (Ephes. 1:13).
