You need to let the person know from day one that the hitting and loud voice stuff will not work not even once with you. You will have to stand up to people with controlling spirit. Now a husband have a certain amount of say, he is the delegated authority in the home. However, he has no right to govern you movement. And the wife has no right to govern his.

(9) DENIED EACH OTHER’S OF THEIR RIGHTS TO RETAIN THEIR INDIVIDUALITY.

You have the rights to retain your individuality as a person. The kind of clothing you wishes to wear this day should be your choices. This is a woman’s problem. One man stop going to church because every Sunday morning he and his wife argue over what clothing he must wear. You have to deal with this problem before marriage.

(17) LIFE HAVING NO SPIRITUAL BASE.
