M atthew 3:13-AV Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. Matthew 3:14-AV But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? Matthew 3:15-AV And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer [it to be so] now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. Matthew 3:16-AV And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

WHERE SHOULD ONE BE BAPTIZE? ANY WHERE THERE IS MUCH WATER:

River:

John 3:23-AV And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

HOME:

Acts 16:30-AV And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? Acts 16:31-AV And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Acts 16:32-AV And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. Acts 16:33-AV And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed [their] stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

DESERT:

Acts 8:26-AV And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

Acts 8:35-AV Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. Acts 8:36-AV And as they went on [their] way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, [here is] water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? Acts 8:37-AV And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Acts 8:38-AV And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. Acts 8:39-AV And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

BAPTISM DO NOT MOVE SINS:

1Peter 3:21-AV The like figure whereunto [even] baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

BAPTISM SIGNIFIED CHRIST DEATH, BURIAL AND RESURRECTION:

Romans 6:3-AV Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Romans 6:4-AV Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:5-AV For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also [in the likeness] of [his] resurrection:

WHOSE NAME SHOULD WE BAPTIZE IN:

The main important thing is that the person acknowledge the person of God, the Father, the son and the Holy Spirit. And know that the Jesus that was crucified is the one that he/ she is being baptizing into. Because! there was many people having the same name at the time of our lord. It is important to know that the name "Jesus" Is the English name for the son of God, when he was on earth he was not call Jesus. Iesus. The Hebrew has no "J" No Jesus, No Jehovah = Iehovah. A minister can pronounce the name of Jesus over a candidate at baptism, or he can pronounce the name of the father, son, holy Spirit.

JESUS IS JUST THE TITLE FOR THE SON OF GOD:

John 19:19-AV And Pilate wrote a title, and put [it] on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS. John 19:20-AV This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, [and] Greek, [and] Latin.

(1) IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, THE SON, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT:

Matthew 28:19-AV Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Matthew 28:20-AV Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.

(2) IN THE NAME OF JESUS:

Acts 8:16-AV (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

Acts 10:48-AV And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

WHAT IS THE SON OF GOD NAME, AND WHAT DOES BAPTIZING IN HIS NAME MEAN?:

John 1:12 (KJV) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Proverbs 30:4 (KJV) Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?

HIS NAME IS THE WORD OF GOD

Rev. 19:13 (KJV) And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

Jesus is the living word. St John I:1 He is God's spokes man"Logos" Believing in his name mean to applied his words to our life. Our Lord say" Becoming his disciple is not just to pronounce the phrase" In the Name Of Jesus over you when you are being baptize, but for you to apply all his teaching to your life. Also, this is what it mean to put on Christ, and to walk in the spirit.

Luke 6:46 (KJV) And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

c [was God] Not only was the Word with God, but He was God and always will be as much divine as the other two members of the Trinity (Psalm 45:6-7; Isaiah 9:6-7; John 1:1; Hebrews 1:8-12; Rev. 1:8,11; Rev. 22:13-16).

John 1:1 (KJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

JESUS IS THE SON:

John 3:16-AV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

THERE ARE THREE IN HEAVEN:

1John 5:7-AV For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

THREE IN EARTH:

1John 5:8-AV And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

EQUAL WITH GOD:

Philippians 2:5-AV Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Philippians 2:6-AV Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: Philippians 2:7-AV But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: Philippians 2:8-AV And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Philippians 2:9-AV Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: Philippians 2:10-AV That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth; Philippians 2:11-AV And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

John 5:18-AV Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

WHERE THREE MEAN ONE IN SCRIPTURE:

Matthew 3:16-AV And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: Matthew 3:17-AV And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Jesus in the water being BAPTIZE by John, the Holy Spirit came upon him, and a voice spoke from heaven saying" This is my beloved son"

A MAN AND HIS WIFE IS TWO SEPARATE PEOPLE BUT ARE REGARDED AS ONE IN SCRIPTURE:

Genesis 2:24-AV Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Ephesians 5:31-AV For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

Matthew 19:5-AV And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

YOU FREE TO BAPTIZE AS YOU WANT:

It really does not matter, but for people who are religious fanatic, it mean a lot. If the Bible teaches two thing different, then it is up to each church to pick their choice. Baptizing in Jesus name is more like a Jewish baptism, the Jews believe that God had a son, but they do not believe that the Jesus whom we preach, whom was kill in Jerusalem is God son. To be sure when dealing with Jews it is best to pronounce the Name O Jesus over them at Baptism. They believe in the father, son and holy spirit. But do not believe in the Jesus which we preach.

Proverbs 30:4-AV Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what [is] his name, and what [is] his son's name, if thou canst tell?

IT DOES NOT MATTER , YOU CAN KEEP SABBATH IF YOU WANT:

Romans 14:5-AV One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day [alike]. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

YOU MARRED IF YOU WANT:

1Corinthians 9:3-AV Mine answer to them that do examine me is this, 1Corinthians 9:4-AV Have we not power to eat and to drink? 1Corinthians 9:5-AV Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and [as] the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas? 1Corinthians 9:6-AV Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working?

YOU EAT MEAT IF YOU WANT:

1Corinthians 8:8-AV But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.

Proverbs 8:8-AV All the words of my mouth [are] in righteousness; [there is] nothing froward or perverse in them. Proverbs 8:9-AV They [are] all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

Acts 8:38 a[they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch] Both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water so burial in water could take place (Romans 6:4; Col. 2:12). They went down into the water and came up out of the water, as in other places (§Matthew 3:6, note; Matthew 3:16; Mark 1:10). b[baptized him] The true New Testament teaching on baptism: 1.Bapto , the root word for baptize and baptism, means to dip; dip under; sink; dip in; immerse; plunge; and to cover entirely with liquid. Including the compound embapto , it is used six times in Scripture: (1)To dip one's finger in water (Luke 16:24). (2)To dip bread in gravy (Matthew 26:23; Mark 14:20; John 13:26, twice). (3)Garment dipped in blood to dye it (Rev. 19:13). 2. Baptizo , derived from bapto , to overwhelm; make wholly wet; immerse; submerge; sink; plunge; to dip under; and to baptize. It appears 80 times in the New Testament and is used thus: (1)Baptized in the river Jordan (Matthew 3:6; Mark 1:5,9) (2)Baptized with (Greek "in") water (Matthew 3:11; Mark 1:8; John 1:26,31,33) (3)When he was baptized, went up out of the water (Matthew 3:16; Mark 1:10; Acts 8:38-39) (4)Baptized in the cloud and in the sea (2 Cor. 10:2) (5)Baptize you with (Greek: "in") the Holy Ghost (Matthew 3:11; Mark 1:8; Luke 3:16; John 1:33; Acts 1:5; Acts 11:16) (6)Twice out of 80 times it is translated "wash" with the idea of dipping or thoroughly cleansing that which was washed (Mark 7:4; Luke 11:38). (7)It is translated "Baptist" one time (Mark 6:14) and "baptized" once (John 10:40), meaning dipper and dipped. (8)It is translated "baptize," to dip under; literally, to dip wholly, 76 times (Matthew 3:6-16; Matthew 20:22-23; Matthew 28:19; Mark 1:4-9; Mark 10:38-39; Mark 16:16; Luke 3:7-21; Luke 7:29-30; Luke 12:50; John 1:25-33; John 3:22-26; John 4:1-2; Acts 1:5; Acts 2:38,41; Acts 8:12-16,36-38; Acts 9:18; Acts 10:47- 48; Acts 11:16; Acts 16:15,33; Acts 18:8; Acts 19:3-5;22:16; Romans 6:3; 1 Cor. 1:13-17; 1 Cor. 10:2; 1 Cor. 12:13; 1 Cor. 15:29; Galatians 3:27). 3.Baptisma , immersion, submersion. It is used 22 times and always translated "baptism" (Matthew 3:7; Matthew 20:22-23; Matthew 21:25; Mark 1:4; Mark 10:38-39; Mark 11:30; Luke 3:3; Luke 7:29; Luke 12:50; Luke 20:4; Acts 1:22; Acts 10:37; Acts 3:24; Acts 18:25; Acts 19:3-4; Romans 6:4; Ephes. 4:5; Col. 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21).

(1)There are seven different baptisms (§Matthew 3:6, note). (2)All baptisms are by burial (Romans 6:4; Col. 2:12) which means by dipping, according to facts above.

(3)Baptism does not remit sins. See §Matthew 3:11, note; §1 Peter 3:21, note; and Baptism Did Not Remit Paul's Sin.

4.Baptismos ), a dipping in water; a baptism. It is translated baptism (Hebrews 6:2); and washing (Matthew 7:4,8; Hebrews 9:10). These washings refer to the many ceremonial cleansings.

5.Baptistes (, a baptizer; one who dips. It is translated "Baptist" 14 times (Matthew 3:1; Matthew 11:11-12; Matthew 14:2,8; Matthew 16:14; Matthew 17:13; Mark 6:24-25; Mark 8:28; Luke 7:20,28,33; Luke 9:19).

Acts 22:16 a[And now why tarriest thou?] Question 64. Next, §Acts 22:25. This was after Paul was saved, filled with the Holy Spirit and healed (Acts 9:17-18). So, the baptism could not be to remit his sins, any more than in the case of Christ (Matthew 3:16), the eunuch (Acts 8:37 with 1 John 5:1), the Gentiles (Acts 10:44-48), or anyone else (1 Peter 3:21; 1 Cor. 1:13-24). See notes, §Matthew 3:11.

b[and wash away thy sins] Baptism Did Not Remit Paul's Sin 1.Acts 22:12-16 is not a detailed or consecutive account of all the facts, as in Acts 9:17- 18, which states:

(1)Reception of sight (Acts 9:17-18) (2)Filling of the Spirit (Acts 9:17) (3)Arising from prayer (Acts 9:11,18) (4)Baptism in water (Acts 9:18) 2.Paul's own testimony elsewhere proves he was saved by faith in the blood (Romans 3:24-25; Romans 5:1; Ephes. 1:7).

3.He was already saved, healed, and filled with the Spirit before he was told to "arise" (Acts 22:16 with Acts 9:17-18). 4."Wash away thy sins" is clearly a ceremonial washing, as are all washings by man (Matthew 8:3-4 with Leviticus 14-15). The Greek: apolouo is used only twice: once here of ceremonial cleansing and once in 1 Cor. 6:11 where it is the same in meaning as the baptism "without hands" of Col. 2:11. 5.No scripture says that sins are washed away by baptism other than ceremonially.

Cleansing is done: (1)by God (Psalm 51:1-13; Titus 2:11-13) (2)by Christ (Matthew 1:21; Rev. 1:5) (3)by the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:11) (4)by grace through faith (Ephes. 2:8-9) (5)by faith in the blood (Romans 3:24-25; Romans 5:9; Ephes. 1:7; 1 John 1:7; Matthew 26:28; Hebrews 9:22; 1 Peter 1:18-23; Rev. 1:5) (6)by faith without works (Romans 2:24-31; Romans 4:1-25; Romans 5:1; Galatians 3:19-29)

(7)by confession of sins (1 John 1:9; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 2:38; Acts 3:19) (8)by the Word of God (1 Peter 1:23; James 1:18; John 3:5; John 15:3; Ephes. 5:26) 6.Ananias, a Jew, was well acquainted with ceremonial cleansings. He knew that washing was outward and ceremonial and did not cleanse from:

(1)Leprosy (Leviticus 14:1-9; Leviticus 15:1-27) (2)Guilt (Psalm 26:6; Psalm 73:13) (3)Sins (Isaiah 1:16; Jeremiah 2:22) (4)Wickedness (Jeremiah 4:14) (5)Defilement (Mark 7:1-23)

Washings only typified cleansing by blood (Hebrews 9:7-15,21-26; Hebrews 10:1-23). 7.Many words describing redemption are found 3,322 times in Scripture and not once is water baptism required to make anyone phase effective. 8.Many convincing examples of remission of sins without and before water baptism are recorded in Scripture:

(1)Christ (Matthew 3:16; Luke 3:21) (2)Old Testament saints (Hebrews 11:1-40; Luke 1:15,41,46,67; Luke 2:25-38) (3)Palsied man (Matthew 9:1-7)

(4)The publican (Luke 18:9-14) (5)Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1-10) (6)Thief on the cross (Luke 23:43) (7)The nobleman's house (John 4:53)

(8)The sinner woman (Luke 7:48) (9)Many Jews (Matthew 9:22; Mark 5:34; Mark 10:52; Luke 17:19; Luke 18:42; John 7:31; John 8:30-31; John 11:45; John 12:11,42) (10)The eunuch (Acts 8:37 with 1 John 5:1; Romans 10:9-10; Ephes. 2:8-9) (11)The lame man (Acts 3:16; Acts 4:12) (12)Paul (Acts 9:18-19)

(13)Cornelius and house (Acts 10:44-48; Acts 11:14-18; Acts 15:7-11) (14)Multitudes both healed and saved (Acts 5:15-16; James 5:14-15; Matthew 13:15)

9.Both Peter and John state baptism to be a "figure" and "witness" of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 3:21; 1 John 5:6-10). 10.Peter plainly says it does not save to the point of putting away the filth of the flesh (1 Peter 3:21; Galatians 5:19-21). 11.Paul definitely says sins are put off by circumcision without hands (Col. 2:11-13). This is the baptism of Romans 6:1-8; 1 Cor. 12:13; Galatians 3:29; Ephes. 4:5; Col. 2:12.

12.Since water baptism is not the real, literal, physical death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, then it has to be figurative of it (1 Peter 3:21; 1 John 5:6-10). 13.Washing of sins by baptism is ceremonial and symbolic, like the ceremony of the leper after he was cleansed (Matthew 8:3-4 with Leviticus 14:1-9; Leviticus 15:1-27) and like the garments washed in the blood (Rev. 7:13-14). 14.Paul did not teach baptismal regeneration (1 Cor. 1:13-24; 1 Cor. 15:1-5; Romans 1:16; Romans 10:9-10; Ephes. 2:8-9).

15.Jesus did not teach baptism as a means of salvation. He forgave multitudes without it (see point 8, above). Not one time did He baptize anyone (John 4:2). He once mentioned faith and then baptism (Mark 16:16). 16.Texts used to teach remission of sins by baptism (Matthew 3:6-8,11; Mark 1:4-5; Luke 3:3,8-16; Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16) do not say sins are remitted by it, but "for" or because of repentance (see note, §Matthew 3:16). Repentance and faith always precede baptism in these passages. See Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38,41; Acts 8:12,37; Acts 10:44-48; Acts 18:8; Acts 19:4.

c[calling on the name of the Lord] This is what saves (Acts 2:21; Romans 10:9-10; 1 John 1:9; Luke 13:3). Then one is ready for baptism, as Paul was after he was saved, healed, and filled with the Spirit (Acts 9:17-18).

Matthew 3:6 a[baptized] Greek: baptizo from bapto , to dip (Luke 16:24; Rev. 19:13; John 13:26); to overwhelm with suffering (Matthew 20:22-23; Luke 12:50); to bury into (Romans 6:3-7; Col. 2:12), regardless of the element used.

§Acts 8:38. Seven Baptisms in Scripture:

1.John's baptism in water (Matthew 3; Mark 1; Luke 3; Luke 7:29-30; John 1:31-33; John 3:23-26; John 10:40; Acts 1:5; Acts 11:16; Acts 19:3) 2.Christ's baptism in water (John 3:22; John 4:1-2) 3.Baptism in suffering (Luke 12:50) 4.Baptism in the cloud and in the sea (1 Cor. 10:2) 5.Christian baptism in water (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38-41; Acts 8:12- 16,36-38; Acts 9:18; Acts 10:47-48; Acts 16:15,33; Acts 18:8; Acts 19:5; Acts 22:16; 1 Cor. 1:13-17; 1 Peter 3:21) 6.Baptism into Christ and into His body (Romans 6:3-7; 1 Cor. 12:13; Galatians 3:27; Col. 2:12)

7.Baptism in the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:11,14; Matthew 20:22-23; Mark 1:8; Mark 10:38-39; Luke 3:16; John 1:33; John 7:37-39; Acts 1:5; Acts 11:16; Acts 19:2-3)

Three Baptisms for Believers:

1.Into Christ or into His body at repentance and the new birth (pt. 6, above). Called "one baptism" (Ephes. 4:5), because it is the only baptism that saves the soul and brings into the body of Christ. 2.Water baptism after one is saved (pt. 5, above and note, §Matthew 3:11). 3.Spirit baptism, the enduement of power for service. It can take place before water baptism (Acts 10:44-48) or after it (Acts 1:4-8; Acts 2:1-11; Acts 8:12-21; Acts 19:1- 7). The Holy Spirit is the agent to baptize into Christ and into His body (1 Cor. 12:13); Christ is the agent to baptize in the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:11; John 1:31-33); and the minister is the agent to baptize into water (Matthew 28:19).
